Hi Guys,
Since we have been in the showcase we have had a huge influx of traffic. That is great and we are all happy so many people are visiting and enjoying the heath. But don't forget this place was built for the SL gay community and the best way to build a place for our friends and family to hang is by word of mouth so don't forget to tell everyone you know about the Heath and give them a landmark.
If you are not yet a member of The Heath please ask one of the Heath Rangers or ask a person who has a Heathen tag if they know of someone who can make you a member.

Showcase
Okay, so it turns out the Heath was added to the SL Showcase last week, and we have had a massive influx of visitors since then, with traffic climbing to over 7,000.
Personally, as the main landscaper and builder of the Heath, I find it a huge honour to be included in the Showcase list. I'm not quite sure if I will ever be able to top this achievement. I'm not under the illusion that it was all my work - I have had alot of help and assistance from several wonderful people - but I have put alot of time, effort and love into helping bring this place to life, and I am very, very proud of it.
I am hoping we will be able to have an official opening party soon, I have been meaning to get round to it for some time, and now we have DJs and a steadily growing group, events should be happening more regularly :D

Build/Voice Area Now Open
http://slurl.com/secondlife/The%20Heath/211/33/32
:D
Prim return is set to 24 hours ( I think lol ) hopefully it is enough room for people to build stuff on... I know it is very out of the way but we have put a blanket down so multiple people can hang out there while building.

Moar New Stuffz!
North East Corner: We have an orchard! - Look for the awesome Pillow Talk Apple Tree hidden in there, it contains multiple cool hangout poses. I just need to get some decent shadows for it all now, I reckon. Also, look out for Heath branded cider, available soon :P
Centre: The bandstand is done! - Well, I bought one and modded it. It looks infinitely better than anything I coulda built and reaction has been very positive so far, so I am happy with it! Surrounding it is a concrete area, complaete with benches and some light graffiti.. we can't keep those kids under control 24/7 :/
Thanks to Chopper for doing those textures... we love them, I hope the other Heathens do.
Centre: Main hangout area nearly done! - Look for flowers and logs that contain sit poses on the grass near the concrete bandstand area and kiddie's play area.
South West Corner: We have a church/graveyard! This one is not just for halloween either :O Typically, a few hundred years ago in England, a church would be built in the centre of a village, with the village 'green' or square outside it as a kinda communal area. As time went on and the village grew into a town, the green, if preserved, became a park, and so now you will often find churches and parks together :P
The Heath is now inhabited by various creatures, mostly water birds like ducks and swans. If you have any suggestions regarding their placement, or know of good stores where we can get more varied wildlife to go amongst the trees, then let me know :D

The Heath - Not Just for Land Dwellers
As part of our commitment to be a region open to all The Heath has a large lake suitable for aquatic prehistoric creatures, fish, merfolk, and anyone who likes to take a dip. We are going to be placing swimballs around so come check it out.
Esmi and Chester are getting closer to completion so hopefully we will have a big grand opening in Early November. But don't wait for that, come by any time and bring your friends.

Landmarks/Attractions
The thing that forced everyone to teleport into the middle of the sim has now been disabled, so peole are free to use their own landmarks now. Here are some areas of interest:
For the rest of October, we have a haunted house on the Heath, affectionately known as 'The Mansion of Doom'. It's in the North East Corner.
The Bandstand is still being built, and will eventually be the centre of the The Heath's activities (possibly), as well as making a good central TP hub.
We have a Meadow area, with open space and lots of long, wavey grass. The area by the river is almost finished and I reckon it will be one of the most beautiful locations in SL once we're done. Look for sitting/laying poses hidden in rocks, a tree and some flowers.
We have a Bus Stop too, which is on the (incomplete) main road running along the western side of the sim. An idea is to possibly have this as the central TP hub, but we shall see what people think.
Near to the Mansion of Doom is the Picnic Area, complete with toilets.. (Chester's idea). Some great views of the lake and the rest of the Heath from up here :D
Most of the places listed are still under construction, so stop by regularly to check out the progress. There is plenty of other stuff to see that isn't listed here so look all over the Heath.. you never know what awesomeness you might find :D

Donations/Helping Out/Roles
If you're interested in helping us out, either by donating some money to help with building costs (them ducks don't buy themselves you know!), or by donating actual items, like a tree, or some rocks, then feel free to IM me (Esmiel Posthorn) - I am trying to be the sensible organised one for this (Chester is too busy eating brie and watching Most Haunted, and Finnegan's hand is broken :( so we might not see him for a while).
In terms of group roles, we have been discussing who will suit what jobs and so on, so expect some internal promotions within the group to be ocurring shortly. My God, I really have this manager jargon down good huh?
